Workshop Objectives

 

With this workshop we seek to achieve two things:

  • Validation of the comparison of qualitative methods in health workforce planning based on information provided by partners (related to D061 User Guidelines on how to use qualitative methodologies to estimate future health workforce needs).
  • To train partners to conduct Horizon Scanning interviews with key stakeholders to enable the identification of drivers that may impact on the health workforce (related to DO62 Report on Future Skills & Competencies).

 

Workshop Preparation

 

To facilitate this WP6 have created a pre-reading document.  This document contains:

  • Information from partners who informed us that they use or have used qualitative methods in their health workforce planning
  • A paper on ‘proposed methods’ which outlines the methods proposed by CfWI to identify the drivers which may influence the skills and competences needed by the future European health workforce.
  • A glossary of terms for WP6.

WP5 & WP7 WP Leaders & experts workshop on implementation – London, February 12th, 2014

 

According to the Sustainability Plan, WP7 will serve as catalyst at the end of each deliverable from WP4, 5 & 6 for introducing reflexion moment and synchronization exercices in order to propose technical & policy recommendations, and ensure the production of an integrated final Joint Action report. Considering the delivery of the first product of WP5, D051 – Minimal Planning Data Requirements – WP7 jointly with WP5 organized a first brainstorm session on implementing this results. The workshop has been followed but a broader discussion on the same topic in Lisbon. WP7 & 5 thank UK for leaning a room at the Ministry of Health, and CfWI for providing the catering.
